This workshop last took place on the 1st January 2023. We plan on repeating this workshop next year (January 2024), inshā’Allah.

Overview

This workshop covers the Islamic perspective of puberty and growing up. This is an essential workshop for boys aged 11+ to attend. The following topics will be covered:

  • Brief overview of Puberty in Science
  • What does it mean to be Islamically mature?
  • Importance of spending youth wisely
  • When does a person become Islamically mature?
  • Rulings pertaining to mani, madhi, wadi & wet dreams.
  •  Method of doing ghusl
  • Shaving & trimming hair
  • Open Q & A session at the end

Why is this workshop essential?

Children are becoming mentally aware and exposed to sexual content at increasingly younger ages. Children are also taught Sex & Relationships Education (SRE) in primary school, and therefore will have already been exposed to a myriad of ideas and thoughts. It is essential that we educate our children regarding the Islamic view and rulings on this important milestone in their lives.

Timings & Location

Workshop will take place on Sunday 1st January 2023 from 6:30pm – 8:15pm. Food and refreshments will also be served after the workshop.

What do you need to bring?

Please bring a pen/pencil with you. There will be handouts and resources given out during the presentation.
